Community Outreach
Cargo Ventures is in the initial stages of meeting with the community in order to garner input on the proposed redevelopment and transportation upgrades. This project will only be successful with the help and support of the East Boston community. Over the next few months, Cargo Ventures team will continue to meet with direct abutters, area residents, community organizations and elected and appointed leaders to discuss the plans, schedule and process to move forward.

Say hello to Cohort 2 of Cargo Venntures’ collaboration Workforce Development Program with the East Boston YMCA and NECAT. This program trains participants in the culinary field for 12 weeks, as well as provides ESOL classes and jobs/soft skills training. Upon completion, graduates will receive a ServeSafe Certificate, a Culinary Arts Certification from NECAT, and placement in a full-time job in the community that provides a livable wage completely FREE of charge! Cargo Ventures is proud to support programs like this that give back to the community in the forms of jobs and training.


Culinary Workforce Development Cohort 2 kicked off middle October and will run until the end of December. The Chefs in Training are using this time to build their skills, gain certification and ultimately land a job with livable wages.
